Schedules See Game Schedule page · Players should plan to arrive to fields at least 15 minutes before game time (or as your coach directs). It is important to start all games on time. · As all players must be checked in by referees prior to start of game, players arriving late may not be permitted to play until 2nd half (up to Referees ability to check player in late) Game Apparel Fall & Spring Soccer often includes many weather challenges—always try to dress in layers with suggestions as follows: · bring outerwear (sweats, rain gear) in case of inclement weather (see below) · Jerseys worn as provided or league required. F2009 U6-U10 games wear reversible shirts with home team on schedule wearing black · Shirts must be worn over any sweats / underarmour. Reminder in GLCSL games shirts are required tucked in (at referees discretion) · Jewelry - earrings should not be worn in games; at referees discretion starter earrings may be permitted if taped. Hard barrettes, head bands, other jewelry are not permitted. · Hard Casts & Braces must have an outer wrap of padding (ie wrapped with foam or bubble wrap covered with ace bandage wrap—or similar) Referee must review and approve Game Day Equipment · Make sure proper gear is worn for games (see EQUIPMENT page) · Suggest always to have water or sports drink for games · Check with Coaches on whether to bring practice ball to games Weather - Always Plan to play Game Day Soccer in all weather, rain, snow or shine with the exception of lightning or severe inclement weather as determined by Referee(s) or Site Coordinator who have the authority and responsibility to shorten or cancel games on game day, with guidelines as follows: · No game shall be played if lightning is present · From the time lightning is observed, a waiting period of 30 minutes is required before a game start / restart can occur. Each time lightning is observed, the official waiting clock must be reset · Games ended in the first half due to inclement weather may be rescheduled. Games stopped in the second half shall be considered complete. · The referee shall have the authority to shorten or cancel a game due to inclement weather as determined severe and/or unplayable. If a game, or half time needs to be shortened the referee shall inform both coaches before the contest begins. · Officials may shorten the halftime to keep games on schedule, but the duration of the games should not be shortened unless absolutely necessary and then only with the consent of both coaches and/or the site director. Game rescheduling of GLCSL U10-U19 games must follow GLCSL guidelines and requires approval and coordination with LS Referee Assignor. For rescheduling of U6-U8 games coaches should first notify Referee Assignor, and if a weekday reschedule for game, LS Field Coordinator should confirm field availability so as any practice schedule is not disrupted.
