Experience the Lake Michigan Shoreline for 7 glorious days of riding. There is so much to see and do you won’t be able to do it all. From swimming in the lake, to the cherry lady, to the sand dunes, to the sights and sounds of Traverse City, thru the Tunnel of Trees and finishing with a spectacular view of the Mackinac Bridge. Come join us for our 23rd year of exploring the coastline of Lake Michigan. The 7-day Shoreline West Bicycle Tour takes the scenic route from Montague to the mighty Mackinac Bridge in Mackinaw City. This year will include some new sites as well as our favorite sites. There is so much to experience on this ride: view historic lighthouses, pristine orchards and farms, swim at sugar sand beaches, climb the dunes, grab a fresh lunch and picnic along the route in "Michigan's playground" and ride through the Tunnel of Trees. The terrain is never mundane as it varies from flats, rolling hills, and many challenging climbs. With moderate mileage, this is a great bicycling vacation to either ride with someone you know or someone you meet on tour.

About the Shoreline Bike Tour that passes through Ludington  -

Ludington Soccer Club welcomed the Shoreline Bicycle Tour to Ludington on August 8th & 9th.  During their time in Ludington, the Soccer Club arranged to serve them a delicious spaghetti dinner and hot breakfast.  With the help of Donna Garrow and the Ludington Area Schools food service staff, 20+ Ludington soccer volunteers cut fruits and vegetables, served food, bussed tables, and washed dishes for 328 bicycle riders from around the country.  The bike tour organization pays the Soccer Club for the meals and the club can earn typically between $1200 and $2500 depending on the number of volunteers.  The more volunteers we have the less labor charges we have to pay to LAS.  Money raised supports our youth soccer program, and needed maintenance of our fields and equipment.
